Transforming the way we relate to each other

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Phaphama Initiatives is a large international training organisation based in South Africa that has a vision of becoming a significant contributor to the building of sustainable nonviolence, peace and development. Our mission is to waken people to their capacity to lead productive, responsible, ethical and happy lives and to empower them to achieve their goals.

We provide behavioural change training, mentorship and support to all our stakeholders. We are motivated by our belief in the power of affirmation, communication, co-operation and community building to transform situations in ways that demonstrate the good in every human being.

Our methodology is experiential in ways that build relationships - life changing, exciting, emotionally touching and fun. All programmes are tailored to suit client needs. Participants always engage in the process and leave feeling changed, refreshed and fulfilled.

Our training programmes cover three broad areas:

- Corporate and Government where our goal is organisational transformation through behavioural change and clarity about workplace challenges. This leads to enthusiastic, ethical and productive workplaces.

- Social Transformation where we offer our services in ways that enhance society, mainly in disadvantaged communities. This work is subsidised by our commercial work and supporters around the world.

- Internal Training is provided to our partners/service providers to support their quest for the highest levels of quality and skills. This training also offers us the chance to connect with our partners and support their personal growth.
