KwaZulu-Natal
A Rural Immersion

please click to CONTACT US

TALK Tourism arranges for small groups of tourists (ideally between one and four people) who wish to experience rural African culture, to stay for a period of time with an extended family in a rural area of South Africa, usually in KwaZulu-Natal. Visitors are accompanied by trained TALK Tourism helpers on this trip.

The duration of the stay may range from one week to one month (or longer), and may have different focuses i.e. learning the language, experiencing the life of the family or touring the area and enjoying its rich historical and natural attractions. This is not a commercial tourist location and the emphasis is on fitting in with the family, rather than on having the family treat visitors in a special way.

Interested visitors will be requested to attend a thorough briefing, so as to ensure that they have a clear understanding of what such an immersion stay involves.
