South Africa has an amazing variety of churches and church traditions. On the one hand there are the traditional mission churches like the Roman Catholic church, the Anglican church, the Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, Reformed, Presbyterian, etc. On the other hand we have the charismatic and pentecostal churches. And finally, the churches that seek to be rooted in their African traditions and beliefs, the so-called African Independent Churches. Since Apartheid has also left its mark on the churches one still finds many churches defined by a single population group.

In our church and theological tours we facilitate encounters with members of various churches. This may be on a Sunday for worship or on other days for informal encounters with church groups or individuals.

Theologically too, Cape Town has a lot to offer. The three universities in the region, the University of Cape Town, the University of the Western Cape and the University of Stellenbosch all have faculties of theology or religious studies. We arrange meetings with lecturers and participation in lectures where possible.
